Unit Title: Perspectives from the Past: Colonial North America


Unit Overview

This unit will focus on the time period of European arrival and settlement in the Americas with emphasis on the area known as North Carolina today. Students will analyze the various perspectives held by American Indians and European Explorers and how these views clashed. Additionally, students will examine what types of negotiations were made and/or not made. Students will additionally explore how leadership impacted such negotiations along with the influence that wealth, power and land ownership played in these negotiations.
