Session Objectives:

Participants will...

1) Evaluate their individual progress/level of readiness in implementing the Social Studies Essential Standards.
  • By using a self-assessment checklist and presenter-peer discussion to explore readiness
  • By using the self-assessment checklist as a tool to help determine a plan of action

2) Increase their understanding of developing concept-based units of instruction.
  • By working through the step by step components of the Unit Development process
  • By collaborating (within grade levels or courses) to create or revise a concept-based unit
